F.A.Q.

    1. Why should I use an LIA member?

All our member's have a proven track record and conform with the highest standard of installations to conserve water.

    2. What should I expect when an LIA member visits my site to do a quote?

You should expect a professional contractor who's is well educated on the latest trends and technology of our industry, making you aware of all the various options one have for a custom designed system to conserve water and to save money on your monthly water account.

    3. Who may design my irrigation system?

Only Res/Com Designers are allowed to design irrigation systems. All our member's have a minimum qualified person in their employment who is responsible for the company's designs.

    4. Can I install my own irrigation system?

This question have been asked by many and although the answer is yes, we strongly recommend using use of our member's to at least assist you with the design and materials in order to ensure that you don't end up with additional expenses or even damages to your or your neighbours property.

    5. What should I expect when I appoint an LIA member and he/she commence with work on my site? After appointment, all known service on your property/site should be pointed out to the contractor to ensure that he/she does not damage any. Unfortunetly our member's cannot be held liable should one fail to do so. A program should also be discussed to insure that the installation has a minimum impact on your daily routine or your landscape.

    6. How long should I expect an installation to take? This should be discussed with your contractor although a standard domestic garden can take anywhere between 2 – 4 days.

    7. What should I expect from the LIA contractor once the work has completed on my site? Once the installation has been completed, the contractor should arrange a suitable time and date to handover the system to ensure your satisfaction. The contractor should then also hand over a detailed installation drawing ( As Build) with all applicable manuals, instructions and keys for future reference.

    8. What about maintenance and repairs to my system after installation? All our member's carries a one year guarantee on labour and an extended warranty of certain material ranging from 1-5 years. Ensure that you receive a warranty certificate and that the contractor does maintenance.

    9. Can I appoint an LIA contractor to come and do maintenance and repairs to my current system even if they did not install it? Yes you can, keeping in mind that some time (and money) will be lost in order for them to familiarise themselves with our system. The detailed installation drawing ( As Build) received after your installation would also same time and cost.

    10. What process do I follow if I am unhappy with the work conducted by an LIA member? If all necessary steps have been taking to avoid and to resolve a dispute then you should submit an complaint to your nearest regional office so that the executive committee can assist you.

    11. Where can I attend an irrigation course? See “Course Dates” under Technical about the latest course available in all regions this year or contact your regional office.
